Why Let Silly Details Stop Us?

I agree with everything that is being stated in the article. Why should race matter? A dean has the chance to admit a student that is the perfect candidate or the collage, excellent grades and recommendations, all the extra behavioral characteristics needed, yet he won’t because of the skin color? The idea seems absolutely ridiculous in my mind, so what if we are different on the outside? Just like our minds, our physical appearance differs from others, but that doesn’t make someone better than the other. What should really matter is someone’s personality, who are they able to cope with things, how are they able to solve problems, how well do they work with others, their ability to trust their judgment to make right decisions, the important things. Why forbid yourself of something you agree on and think it is worth the try, just because of a silly little detail?
Our reasoning is simple. We admit students to accomplish two goals: to get the best possible students and to assemble the best possible class.” I do believe it is quite simple, what you want is to achieve the best scenarios you can, no need to stop yourself over little details such as color. I think that is what bothers, people thinking stupid things such as color should have an influence in their decisions. If you think someone is perfect for a job, go for it! Don’t let anything get in your way, do what you think is right.
“While race may not matter for some applicants, for others it may be urgently salient. As deans, we do not prejudge this issue. Rather, our point is that race can be an important, if not essential, aspect of the life story of many applicants and that our ability to assess the individual character of these applicants would be crippled by a rule forbidding us from considering applicants’ race.” This is the kind of reasoning people should have. Different skin color can lead to people experiencing different kinds of lifestyles and treatments for others. Let the students tell their stories, let them communicate with each other, let them know what really is out there. I believe that everyone deserves a dose of reality every once in a while, sharing stories with each other can make students open their eyes to what is really out there, that not everything is as it seems.

Conflicting Actions And Emotions

Have you ever felt fear? Have you ever had the desire to look away, but yet were unable to?

The same thing is happening to Gilgamesh, he griefs his friend's death and yet has the desire to save him, to find a way to bring him back, but he can't, even being two-thirds of a god can't help him right now. Just like when you are watching a horror movie, you want to look away, no, you HAVE to look away, yet there is some kind of force that doesn't allow you to look away, even if you are able to, its only for a few seconds, because the desire to look back is too overpowering.
Gilgamesh begins his journey with the purpose of finding a way to bring Enkidu back, not only to help his friend, but out of fear of the same fate finding its way to him. That the gods decide he doesn't deserve to live either, that he has to die. His journey takes him to places were he is put to test, can he get over some obstacles and find his way to Utnapishtimn the only way he can find the answer to save Enkidu?
Friendship is one of the most powerful things someone can encounter. It leads people to do crazy things, things they would never have done before, to help or save someone dear to them. It is a strong bond formed between people, almost as if they were family. Having people who care for you at your best and at your worst is something that can't be just thrown away. This kind of bond can be found between Enkidu and Gilgamesh, they care for each other as family and companions would care for one another. The fact that Gilgamesh goes through a mind blowing journey to find a way to help Enkidu is proof of that. Gilgamesh giving up his royal ways, to start sleeping in the dirt, clothing with the fur and skin of his kills is something huge to do for a friend, not just anyone does that.
Gilgamesh meets new people that are helping him get closer and closer to what he was seeking for, but is that going to be enough? Will the help of new characters lead him to an encounter with his greatly missed friend?

Can You Say, Just A Dream?

Dreams are funny things. While you sleep its the brains unconscious way of telling you what you want, yet you didn't know that, because you didn't even know what you wanted.
There are also other types of dreams, people call them premonitions, its when you dream of something with explicit details and that same thing happens outside of that dream, in the real world. Its more than just dreaming of something that is obviously going to happen, like a plane crash, a plane crash can't be called a premonition, because it is obvious that a plane will crash someday in the future. No, premonitions are more specific, they contain too many details to be called "coincidences".
The dreams Gilgamesh had, are another kind of dreams, in those types of dreams people and certain actions are represented by inanimate objects and some kind of disasters (may be natural or even man made) or even miracles. Dreams like that can leave a heavy conscious on anybody, yet Enkidu reassured him every time that all those dreams he had were of good luck, that they should keep on their way to the Cedar Forest. In the end it appears that Enkidu was right all along, Gilgamesh was able to defeat Huwawa and cut his head to take back with him to Uruk, along with gates he built for his city with the cedars found in the forest. With a raft he built together with Enkidu he started his journey back to Uruk.

Look At The Birdie

It can be observed that not only the couple but also people on the streets are celebrating something, the victory over Japan day, to be more precise, due to the date when the picture was taken.
It can be said, that because of the uniform the man is wearing, he is a sailor on leave that has come home, back to his girlfriend.
Both individuals are so captured with the other, they don't even notice the photographer taking the picture; it can be considered something spontaneous as the picture wasn't planned.
